FAQ
Common Electrolysis Questions
What is electrolysis? Electrolysis hair removal is the only method approved by the FDA for safe and effective permanent hair removal. Electrolysis is safe for all skin types, all hair colors, all hair types, and all body locations. Introduced and recommended by Physicians. Effectiveness and permanency well documented in major medical journals. Electrolysis is the standard by which All Other Methods are Compared.
What areas can be treated? Electrolysis is applicable to all parts of the body and face, with the exception of membrane areas. Popular areas are the eyebrows, chin, lip, ears, as well as the breasts, underarms, bikini line, and legs.
How many treatments? Several factors affect your hair growth and the treatment approach we will take, including hair density, hair type, previous waxing or tweezing, genetics, hormones, specific medications, and stress levels. Typically, electrolysis requires about two years of treatment; however, most clients who adhere to the suggested treatment plan can anticipate finishing or nearing completion within 12 to 18 months.
Side effects? Following treatment, some clients might notice mild redness and/or small, mosquito-like bumps. This typically fades within 30 minutes. However, reactions can differ from person to person, and your electrologist will suggest aftercare treatments tailored to your specific needs.
What sensations should you anticipate during electrolysis, and is it painful? You may feel a quick warmth or a mild pinch that lasts for about a second. For the majority of clients, the discomfort is minimal. Electrologists can adjust the intensity to provide a more comfortable treatment experience.
